IB Grad Stars in Film to be shown at the Pensacola International Film Festival:  (Mary) Charley Young graduated from PHS IB in 2005 and is now a junior at Vassar.  Charley plays the lead role in a short film entitled "The Vacant Lot" that has been selected as an entry for the upcoming Pensacola International Film Festival.
Laura Marx Fitzgerald – Class of 1990

College/major/degrees: Harvard, 1994 - B.A., English and American Literature Cambridge, 1996 (Rotary Foundation scholarship) - M.A., History of Art

Current employment: Writing and Naming Director at Desgrippes Gobe, a branding and design agency

Any awards or special recognition you received in college or after college graduation: Rotary scholarship for 1 year of international study and travel

John Murray – Class of 1990

Current profession: I teach AP English Language and Composition to IB sophomores at PHS

Michael Jones – Class of 1991

Degrees: BA – European History; MA – Education, Curriculum and Development

Current employment: teaching European History at PHS/IB

Susan Becker McInnis - PHS IB Class of 1991
College/Degrees: Graduated from Univ of Fla with a Bachelor's of Accounting in 1995, Master's of Accounting (specialty - Tax) in 1997. 
Employment: Worked as a CPA until summer 2006, when I retired! 
Other: Making excellent use of my education, and thanks to my hard working husband :), I now stay home with my two children - a little boy born 2/14/05 and a little girl born 12/06/06 - and love every minute of it!


Michelle Stevens White – Class of 1991

College/Degrees: BA in Psychology with Honors from Florida State University

MLS in Library and Information Science from Florida State University

Employment: Currently Co-Head of Creative Learning Academy; an independent Pre-K through 8th grade private school.

Other: I have been married to Keith White for the past 13 years. We have two children: Gregory is 11 and Elizabeth is 5. They both attend CLA. Keith is now working as a local architect. We moved back to Pensacola in 2000. Before this I was a Reference Librarian at Florida State University and then Valdosta State University.

Lola Kress Naylor – Class of 1991

College/Degree(s): Graduated BS University of Colorado at Boulder in International Affairs and Masters of Public Administration from the University if Colorado Denver

Current profession: I am a Public Affairs Specialist for the

U.S. Small Business Administration for North Florida

Julie Camp (maiden name Julie Baxley) – Class of 1992

College: Birmingham-Southern College

Major/Degree(s): BS of Science Degree with a degree in Accounting

Employment: Currently working in the Corporate Accounting Department of Compass Bank

Other: Married to John Camp; Two Children - a daughter born in 2003 and a son born in 2006



W. David Marx – Class of 1997

College/major/degrees: Harvard University B.A. 2001 (East Asian Studies); Keio University M.A. 2006 (Business and Commerce)

Current employment: Writer/researcher in advertising (plus freelance magazine work)

Any awards or special recognition you received in college or after college graduation: Noma-Reischauer Prize for Best Undergraduate Paper on Japan, 2001, Monbukagakusho Grant (2003-2006)

Marital status/children: Married to Utako Tayama (wedding in Fall 2006), no children yet

Achievements: A member of the Florida State University Academic Quiz Bowl Team, second place at: USF, Georgia Tech, and UF Tournaments.

Walid Kara – Class of 2005

College: University of Florida

major: Biochemistry and Linguistics

Current employment: not employed but hopefully someday i'll become a Cardiac Electrophysiologist

Any awards or special recognition you received in college or after college graduation: I've only been out of IB for two years and have not received any special recognitions just yet, but Sami was talking about high school.

Marital status/children: single, but will get married sometime in the next ten years

Anything else you would like to include: I am very fortunate to have graduated from IB especially the class of '05, the greatest class to ever graduate from PHS.



Carolyn Kulb – Class of 2005

College: Florida Atlantic University Honors College/Florida State University
Major: Women's Studies and International Studies

Achievements/awards: the Wilkes Honors College awarded me with "Outstanding Freshman Student" last year, an annual award that goes to only one student. I have also successfully completed a Women's Studies internship in Ghana, West Africa teaching women's health education for three months in the summer of 2006. I have been to Costa Rica (to study Spanish).

Achievements: I have been on the deans list, I just got accepted into FSU's International program to study abroad in Florence, Italy for a semester, where hopefully I will become fluent in Italian.

Achievements: I was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship from William and Mary, which allows me to do research with a professor.

Was in the play Belles in November at Converse Collage and writes for the school newspaper.
